<p dir="ltr" id="isPasted">Hello everyone-</p><p dir="ltr">Malcolm, Pakt&#x2019;s founder and original designer here. I wanted to weigh in on the issue of the recycled nylon fabric used on our current bag offerings sometimes attracting lint and pet hair. This update is in regards to the fabric used on most Pakt bags sold after October, 2023.</p><p dir="ltr">We choose all of our fabrics and components used in our products carefully, and we&#x2019;d spent a lot of time testing this fabric before we launched it. We hadn&#x2019;t seen the lint issue so we were surprised when we started to hear reports of the problem. The photos and reports from customers that have experienced extreme examples of the issue can&#x2019;t be argued with though. The problem only seems to affect a small percentage of the people that own the bags, but the problem is real. Certain pet hair and fuzzy blankets or carpets seem to shed hairs and fibers that cling to the bags&#x2019; fabric much more than others.</p><p dir="ltr">I have both a dog and a cat at home (Vito and Jambo snuck into this post below), and I&#x2019;ve traveled to many places with these bags and haven&#x2019;t had any issues. Pakt team members have carried these products daily and around the world, and some live with pets, yet none have had the lint/hair issue affect them in a major way.&#xA0;</p><p dir="ltr">Regardless, we are working hard to find a replacement fabric to make sure no one faces the issue.</p><p dir="ltr">First, we tested an anti-static treatment but we weren&#x2019;t happy with the results. Also, we couldn&#x2019;t accept some potential environmental concerns. Next, we explored some changes to the material composition but it didn&#x2019;t seem to make enough of a difference. Now we&#x2019;re testing some full replacement options but it&#x2019;s a long process to test then produce the new fabrics and bags so it will take a few more months before we are able to release any updates.</p><p dir="ltr">In the meantime, for any customers experiencing the issue with their Pakt bag, we are here to help. If you didn&#x2019;t have an issue but happened to encounter a fuzzy blanket or pet, we suggest trying these <a href="https://pakt-faqs.gorgias.help/en-US/how-to-clean-your-pakt-bag-945137">cleaning tips</a>. If cleaning didn&#x2019;t work, or you live with the fuzzy culprit and the problem will just keep repeating, and you decide to return the product, we&#x2019;re happy to help with that, just <a href="https://paktbags.typeform.com/to/dtfdaiwY">initiate the return</a> with some feedback and a photo of the lint prone bag.
