What are the accessory straps for?Updated a year ago

Every backpack comes with built in accessory straps.  The straps are meant to make it easy to secure all types of items on the exterior of the bag to save space inside the bag. Some ideas of what to put on the exterior of the bag could be a yoga mat, jacket, tripod, etc.
